Hey, does anyone else use their Braille Lite, or whatever note-taking device you use, to cheat on exams? I do. I used to think it was "wrong", and "unfair", but now it gets me way better grades then I would get if I didn't. Opinions, people.
Hey Jess. That is an awesome idea. Unfortunately, I didn't have a BNS or Braille LIte or anything when I was in high school. But if I had had one, cheating would have been a good option. When you cheat, you gotta fuck up a little bit though so ppl will never ctch on that you are cheating. That's key. I cheated off a Braille cheat sheet once I think. LOL
I’m guilty of having used my Braille Note to cheat before. I don't do it very often though.
How would one use a BrailleLite to cheat on something?
LIke would you have to have two blind people a that swopt there notetakers, and do it without someone knowing?
HOw would this thing work?

In order to use a notetaker to cheat on something you should have the file you used to take notes on it. I know this from experience. My Braille Lite and Braille Note have helped me a lot on tests, especially in my science classes where I take a lot of notes. I allso read in class with my Braille Note all the time. The teachers have no idea what I'm doing, so you can really do whatever you want as long as you don't get caught. Just be sure to have the speech off or wear headphones.
Hmm cheating with a notetaker. I once used two volumes of a spanish book to cheat on a test, but I got caught by the teacher.
I've cheated on Vocal tests, with my braille note.

I can remember in High School, when I had a test, I had the answers in one file, and I just switched from one file to another.
It worked well! No one found out!
I try and save all notes-study guides throughout the year, and for our end-of-the-year government final, I printed out a bunch of awesome cheatsheets I put together for my best friend. I'm so nice, and I cheated on the final and got an A. Go me.
LOL I've cheated too. I don't do it too often, as I do a lot of tests/exams on the computer...but tell me someone, can you use your notetaker to cheat in university?

Ugh, cheating makes me sick, I don't know how anyone could cheat with a clear conscience.
Never cheated on a note taker because back then I started using a type and speak and thus no braille display. I'm a honest person, and if you study hard you shouldn't have a problem. However on one or two occations I caught my ex boyfriend cheat in a ORI to college class. I told him "I'm studying for the next few hours for the exam wanna join?" And he pretty much had a shit load of homework to do. So he was kinda preoccupied. But he confessed at lunch time "Jess I cheated on the test and the teacher wont know it haha. Tell and I'll kill you." She (the instructor) told us "No using the dictonary to spell words on note taking devices." Because some half of the questions were all definitions. So yeah he cheated and got a A and I got a C. I must say though I brought that grade up a year later when I had to take a similiar class (I had to because the grade wouldn't transfer from the state I moved from.) in college and got my A but no need to cheat :)
I've tryed to cheet on a test with the braille lite m20, and I'm not sure what I got for a grade. But... I am glad about one thing, and that's that I've found my favorite thing to do is to read books on the braille lite, and everyone just thinks that I'm doing work. I did this for a wile in history, but finally told the teacher. You guessed it, I ratted on myself! What an idiot! Well, this year, I'll just read, read, read, and not... tell... anyone!
HEY! L A Z Y PEOPLE! I reppeat, l a z y p e o p l e ! and what happends if they ask you an horal test? now is when the horror comes up! I did it before, but my opinion is that its not too bright. Well, when the teachers said "do your homework from a previous class" Well, I had nothing to do unlesss I was with my frankling practicing grammar! or with my braille 'n speak, playing simon and all that stuff!
What happened when I cheated, is you know how some teachers will go over the answers after the test? Well, I had my braille writer, and I would quietly scratch out my wrong answers, then when the teacher was done, I'd put the correct ones in before I gave it to my transcriber.

unfortunately I have a laptop, so cheating is rather difficult at times, un;less the person behind you is a friend of yours. A little glance up from their work on the part of the person behind you at the right moment, keeps people's mouth shut, lolol. Aside from that though, I can't really do it too often. What I do is create jaws scripts which resite portions of notes, or long formulas without anything coming up on the screen using the Saystring function, that works, damn well.
Awesome work around fab, you guys are some pretty wickedly crooked crips. I can't recall the last time I cheated. I won't say that I didn't though, but I prefer to use my brain, whether I flunk or not.
hehe Braille LItes are such fun and amusing things to have in boring classes. Except of course, if your book makes you really emotional, not cool.
I have to admit that especially for math classes I used to have a formula sheet in there, am paying for it dearly now at college.

I cheated like crazy with my braille lite in highschool and I loved it! I would just switch back and forth to the notes and answer the questions, but I also took it a step further. If I did not know a question on a test, I would simply stop by my locker after a few more classes, get the book, and look it up and write it down before hooking the braille lite up to the printer.
And the best thing is, the printer was upstairs and the locker was downstairs...so nobody ever saw me do it! hahahahahaha.
Someone had a question about cheating in college. That is much tougher to do and a hell of a lot more risky. First of all, most testing centers take away all note takers, and if you need to do your test on a computer of any kind, it is one provided by the university in a special accommodations center. Plus, I hear that cameras are now being added so they can see what you are doing.
Also, lots of classes recommend expoltion from the university...even if it is your first offense.

Never have done this before; used a notetaker to cheat. Used to get the answers on my wordly wise book from friends, and such as that, hated it and felt awful for it so stoppped it. Plus, now, if nothing else keeps me from doing it, my wanting to get whatever grade I get honestly does. I have a 106 or 107 average in English and I have gotten it honestly.
However, I will say you people are smart. Dumb in a way, I think, but terribly smart. Smile

I use my Braille Lite to cheat all the time. But mostly only on math tests, because i suck at algebra, and i need a calculator or I'll fail every time. Lol but reading in class is another of my favorite things to do. I download stuff off the internet and load it in with my disk drive. At the moment, i am borrowing a type lite, and its awesome, because it can hold alot more stuff, and so i put like an unbelievable amount of crap in it to read during class. And i need that all for study hall, because who wants to work in study hall anyways, especially when you have your study hall in the cafeteria, and so you have to smell all that disgusting food.

I did that in my health class in high school partially because I didn't know the ansers and my aid caught me doing it and then she told the teacher and she didn't let me use my brl lite any more for tests exvept math and spanish. so i did all my tests verbally. but its dangerous to cheat on a laptop
so, now do my tests orally with the professor in college
Lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I cheated twice in my senior year of high school, in my Physics class, and then I cheated my way through college math. I still think to this day that if I hadn't cheated, I wouldn't have passed.
oy, I earn my grades honestly, because if I don't take the time to learn what I must, it'll get me eventually.
I can say of a thousand times i cheated in highschool and mainly in the tenth and 11th grades. i used a braille&Speak.
